The biggest scam in Minecraft history? The creators of the server disappeared with $ 1.2 million

In the world of Minecraft, one of the greatest, if not the greatest scams in history might have just happened. Taking advantage of the growing popularity of NFT, one of the projects raised $ 1.2 million and simply disappeared.

NFT is growing so quickly that people are constantly finding new ways to use it. The newest idea was to link everything with Minecraft. The idea was simple, an MC server was created in the PvP formula, to which people who had at least one token had access.

The idea “gripped” very quickly, and Blockverse gained immense popularity. Funds in the form of USD 1.2 million were collected in 8 minutes. 10,000 NFTs were sold at $ 124 each, which was 0.05ETH.

And everything was great until the creators disappeared

If you do not understand the topic completely, then you must know that a foreign project based on NFT has been created, which collected $ 1.2 milion. The idea was that you were buying NFT and you could go to the server and earn money.

This worked for a few days until at some point the server was shut down, all social profiles and the Discord server were deleted.

After a huge panic, there was a statement in which the developers of the project stated that:

  • They still want to develop Blockverse, they are working on new solutions
  • Removing Discord and shutting down the server was due to attacks on the creators and panic

It’s just that nobody believes it. Normally at this point, the story would probably end, but the developers are not anonymous, at least not at this point. Maybe they’ll actually reboot the server soon, or they’ll try to lie that they themselves have been tricked.

One thing is for sure, the project has worked out and there will be more such initiatives in the future. The only question is how many of them will actually be “legitimate”.
