Zeri with new effects. Details of the changes to Gwen, Wukong, Neeko, and more in patch 12.7
Riot is testing out new balance changes for an upcoming update.
The seventh update this season is to be released soon to League of Legends. It is scheduled for Wednesday, April 13, which is just over a week away. We already know about the initial plans for its content which are described in this article.
Now on the test server, there are some news about the heroes previously described by Riot. So what are the developers planning in the upcoming patch?
Patch 12.7
Several hours ago, changes to several heroes and items appeared on the test server:
- Gwen
- Wukong
- Neeko
- Zeri
- Locket of the Iron Solari
- Infinity Edge
- Galeforce
They are intended to ensure balance. They are especially important due to the upcoming second most important Mid Season Invitational 2022.
As we ramp up to MSI, this patch focuses on shaking up the meta’s dominant picks and adding some new ones that we haven’t seen.
Therefore, Gwen and Wukong buffs are coming. Here’s what the early version of the remake looks like on the test server:
- Gwen
- Skip ‘n Slash (E):
- Basic attack cooldown refund increased from 50% to 60%.
- Needlework (R):
- Cooldown lowered from 120/100 / 80s to 100/90 / 80s.
- Skip ‘n Slash (E):
- Wukong
- Crushing Blow (Q):
- Cooldown lowered from 9/8.5/8/7.5/7s to 8/7.5/7/6.5/6s.
- Warrior Trickster (W):
- Cooldown lowered from 20/19/18/17/16s to 20/18/16/14/12s.
- Nimbus Strike (E):
- Damage against monsters increased from 150% to 180%.
- AP damage lowered from 100% to 80%.
- Crushing Blow (Q):
- Neeko
- Shapesplitter (W):
- Damage lowered from 50/70/90/110/130 to 50/80/110/140/170.
- Movement speed increased from 10/15/20/25/30 to 10 / 17.5 / 25 / 32.5 / 40.
- Shapesplitter (W):

- Attack speed increased from .568 to .598.
- Burstfire (Q):
- Active damage changed from [10/15/20/25/30 + 110% AD] to [6/7/8/9/10 + 110 / 112.5 / 115 / 117.5 / 120% AD].
- Ultrashock Laser (W):
- Damage lowered from [40/75/110/145/180 (+ 100% AD) (60% AP)] to [10/45/80/115/150 (+ 120% AD) (+ 70% AP)
- Spark Surge (E):
- [New] “If Burst Fire critically hits, it reduces the cooldown additionally.”
- Lightning Crash (R):
- [New] “If Burst Fire critically hits, adds an extra stack Overcharge.”
- [Changed] Lightning can critically strike but does not apply on-hit effects.
- Locket of the Iron Solari
- Shield lowered from 200-385 to 200-365.
- Infinity Edge
- Item value increased from 3400 to 3500
- Galeforce
- Cooldown increased from 90 to 110.
At the moment, these are all the fixes that appeared on the PBE. It is worth remembering that this is a test server and final changes may ultimately differ from the version that will be released in the official game.
