Why are players waiting so much for MMOs from Riot? Many people give the same reason

League of Legends

The LoL community is waiting for a new MMO to be released as they are fed up with Summoner’s Rift?

Today, virtually every League of Legends fan who follows the news related to the title has heard that Riot plans to release an MMO set in the world of Runeterra.

The League of Legends universe is really vast and incredibly interesting. Players can read stories about many heroes, not just those found in the game. Regions have their own culture, and the landscapes of the lands of Runeterra can be breathtaking.

No wonder thousands of players from around the world are waiting for an MMO that will probably become a huge hit. Riot has repeatedly shown that it can handle anything it touches very well – just look at other games from the studio, as well as music projects or an animated series.

It turns out that some people are waiting for MMOs for another reason. What?

Waiting for MMO from Riot Games

League of Legends fans occasionally bring up the new Riot Games title, discuss what the new game might look like, whether their beloved heroes will be there, and so on.

One of the players brought up this topic again but approached it from a slightly different angle. It turns out that after the announcement of the work on the MMO, playing Summoner’s Rift has ceased to be so enjoyable.

Why is this happening? It turns out that many players return to Summoner’s Rift not because they are interested in this form of gameplay, but because they simply love heroes and the whole universe.

I love some of the champions, their designs, appearance, lore, but I just don’t want to subject myself to League as a MOBA game any more, because it feels punishing more often than not.

I think the genre brings out the worst in people, because players have to rely on 4 strangers to win games and mistakes are hard punished, often times losing you the game.

The author of the post admitted that he feels tired of the fact that he can often lose games only because he has found the wrong people, and their selection is not dependent on him. He also noted that he would like to enjoy exploring the LoL universe without having to deal with random people. No wonder an MMO would be the perfect solution for him.

I want to free-roam explore a graphically gorgeous Runeterra, places like Shurima, Ionia and the Void while controlling a character of my design.

According to comments from others, they too are waiting for news of a new game from Riot Games. However, there were also joking comments that this title would probably not appear until several dozen years later.

See you in 2049 then

I will be dead by then

Everyone is surely curious about what Riot has prepared and how it will eventually turn out. Unfortunately, you will have to wait a long time for the new MMO.
