What percentage of LoL players have gold? The result may come as quite a surprise. The community is playing better and better?

How many people have managed to reach the gold division in LoL? Most players think the score is much higher.

Getting Gold in League of Legends is a very important goal for many people. It is done not only to get a frame or icon, but also for the Victorious skin, which has of considerable value – it cannot be unlocked in any other way.

It would seem that because of this fact, the majority of players end up just going for Gold – once they get it, they often stop playing because they don’t care about getting higher ranks or are too weak to get to Platinum or Diamond.

Are there actually that many people in Gold? Or are there far fewer than it seems?

Is the majority of players currently in Gold?

One League of Legends fan, out of curiosity, checked how many people have a Gold division according to achievements in the client. The result strongly surprised him.

Only 12.1% of the players are gold+. I got this challenge today when I got back to gold on SoloQ and I saw the % of players that have earned it.

Considering G4 is about top 32-35% (depending on where you get your data from, I checked leagueofgraphs – 34.1232% and my “top” position in op.gg – 32.2%) this would mean only about 1/3 of the playerbase completes their placements.

I know there are some people who don’t play rankeds and even some who only play TFT, but I still would have expected the % of players to be closer to 50%.

And yeah, that’s all, nothing special, just a TIL that I wanted to share in case someone else finds it interesting as I do. Good luck trying to get into the 12.1% to those who are trying until the last moment!

How does it look according to the statistics sites? Leagueofgraphs.com reports that in the SoloQ queue, the statistics are as follows:

By comparison, the site reports that 10% are Platinum players and 1.8% are Diamond players.

Is that a lot? According to many, less than expected. Year after year, more and more players came out of Silver and the Gold division is no longer an indicator of higher skill. LoL veterans probably remember that a few years ago the percentage distribution was completely different.

It is also important to keep in mind that statistics can be skewed if you count all accounts in League of Legends. Players point out that quite a few accounts have been inactive for years because they were abandoned. More than one fan also has several profiles.

Of course, there was no shortage of comments that ridicule those who have Silver or Bronze. According to such players, being in such low divisions is really bad these days. However, it should not be forgotten that some of these accounts are beginners who were attracted to the title relatively recently, for example, by getting acquainted with the Arcane series. There are also those who, after getting a low rank, simply bounced back from playing ranked games because they found it wasn’t for them.
