What is known about the mysterious artwork from LoL? Will this be the next champion?
The League of Legends community is wondering who the mysterious character in one of the official artwork is.
A portrait of a very characteristic hero has appeared on the web. LoL players started to wonder what it was all about – is this weird character the champion coming to the game? The graphic was created by Riot, so according to some, it cannot be accidental.
What is known about this character and where did it first appear?
Mysterious splash art – who does it show?
As you know, the newest champion, Bel’Veth, is to be a character from the Void (see: Bel’Veth skills. The leak reveals the new character’s likely abilities for LoL). The characteristic body of the creature earned him the nickname “stingray” among the community. The newest artwork provided by Riot definitely does not represent it.
Fans began to wonder who is a strange person with many pairs of hands and quite specific clothing.
Where does this picture even come from? This is one of the graphics from Legends of Runeterra – a card game released some time ago by Riot. As you know, this game contains a lot of characters who never appeared on Summoner’s Rift. Tianna, Cithria, or the mysterious creature from the Greenglade Caretaker card are just a few examples. So why does anyone think a new character might appear in League of Legends? It must not be forgotten that LoR showed the appearance of a few champions that were actually added to LoL. It’s about Yone and Senna, of course. According to some fans, the graphic of the “The Maker” card is also an announcement of the future champion.
Jhin’s lore shows that his signature weapon was created by a mysterious figure whose appearance and name have never been revealed.
The gun in his hand was simply a tool—but a perfectly crafted one. Gold type was inlaid into the blackish-green metal. It spelled the smith’s name: this detail spoke of its creator’s pride and confidence. It was not a Piltovan weapon—those gaudy things that attempted to function with the minuscule amounts of magic available in those lands. This gun was made by a true forge master. Magic pulsed from its bronze, Ionian heart.
According to fans, the “The Maker” card is really eye-catching, and the hero’s design is incredibly original. Some tried to guess what role such a character could play – a support buffing allies or a marksman who uses different weapons.
It is worth mentioning that Riot revealed some time ago graphics that were to herald one of the future champions. The picture looked like this:
As you can see, it presents an abstraction consisting of seven hands. From the drawing itself, it is really hard to tell what it is meant to be referring to.
After the latest LoR card was revealed, some people said that the puzzles are finally starting to fall into place – mysterious hands allude to the hero on the “The Maker” card.
Will the League of Legends fan theory prove to be correct? It’s hard to say so far, but Riot will probably reveal more about it soon.
