What could the splash art of the newest LoL heroine – Renata look like? What does the graphic show when rotated?

The creators revealed early versions of graphics with Renata, the heroine who will soon appear on Summoner’s Rift.

The newest hero of League of Legends – Renata – is currently the main topic of conversation among the game community. Riot announced some time ago that the character will be much darker than other supports. They wanted the new support champion to be distinguished by both its intimidating presence and character.

Finally, the players got the information about the announced heroine. Renata surprised many players. The character has yet to appear on live servers, and many people already say they are concerned about her skill set. The new champion means – a new splash art. This one usually has a story behind it. As it is commonly known, each graphic is selected from several concepts prepared by an author appointed by Riot.

This time was no different. What do the preliminary sketches of Renata’s splash look like? Which one looked the best?

Renata’s splash art – what could it look like?

The artwork is by Jeremy Anninos, a 23-year-old artist working for Riot Games. The author has made many different works related to League of Legends. He created splash art for characters such as Rell, Gwen, Spirit Blossom Ahri, Fae Dragon Ashe, Ruined Miss Fortune, Dawn and Nightbringer Kayn, Withered Rose Zeri, and many more.

The author of the graphic wrote:

She’s out on PBE!!! Renata has such an awesome design, so it was wonderful painting her base splash <3

Below you can see the final version of Renata’s artwork and preliminary designs prepared by Jeremy.

The author has also included a simple animation that shows the various stages of the work.

The graphic artist’s profile also features portraits of the heroine. You can see her face with and without the mask.

An interesting fact is that Renata’s splash art can also act as a mirror image. The author turned it around to show that the upside-down version also makes sense. The graphic then shows the image reflected in the puddle.

It must be admitted that this splash art’s detail is really ingenious. Graphics that have a different feel when flipped are a definite rarity in League of Legends.
