The LoL player chose the autofill for over 100 ranked games. Which role was assigned to him most often?

One of the League of Legends fans tested how autofill currently works.

As any LoL player knows, you choose your preferred role before joining a match. Those who are not sure about a particular one can select the autofill, which will assign them to a random position.

Of course, randomness is relative here, since it never happens that each role appears the same number of times. It is known for a long time that certain positions are found much more often and it depends largely on what is currently popular among the community.

Players occasionally take on the challenge of picking autofill across dozens if not hundreds of games and then summarizing the results achieved. Please note that these are not official Riot stats, but only community-led experiments. It can be treated as a League of Legends curiosity.

Most often autofilled roles

A player with the nickname SometimesIComplain decided to check which role is currently most often drawn when choosing an autofill in League of Legends. The results surprised him a bit.

I’ve played 120 ranked games as Fill this season. Here’s the role distribution I’ve gotten:

  • Jungle: 61
  • Bot: 25
  • Supp: 22
  • Top: 9
  • Mid: 3

Do these results surprise any of you? Personally I didn’t expect to get Bot as often as I have. I thought Support would be the 2nd most frequent role by a significant margin.

Regarding jungle, it’s no secret at this point that it’s the least liked role in the game, largely due to the fact that you’re the scapegoat for everything. And maybe partially because Riot has changed the jungle quite a bit and people don’t want to deal with their role changing so much.

The player noted that it should be remembered that the results obtained will be different depending on the division in which the person accepting the challenge is located. In the case of the author of the post, it was Gold I on the NA server.
