Rioter on Yuumi’s SFX problems in League of Legends to be introduced

Riot is aware of a problem that affected the sound effects of the updated Yuumi. What does one of the designers write?

About the fact that Yuumi will receive changes, players could learn some time ago. The character, which was created with newcomers in mind, turned out to be far too strong in the higher divisions, where fans were able to take full advantage of her potential. The developers have decided to slightly redesign the skill set of the character in question so that her target audience is fresh players, although Riot has announced that it does not want her fans to suffer from the improvements.

The new skillset is already known, and it can be tested on test servers. Its release date is scheduled for March 8, so any moment now players will be able to play the new Yuumi. However, a bug has been discovered on the test servers, which the developers must somehow deal with.

Riot on the SFX bug

Players who have had the opportunity to test the new Yuumi on test servers with two specific skins have certainly noticed that individual sound effects are far too loud. The problem affects anyone who is near the heroine during gameplay and the use of one of the problematic skills.

The sound effects of the skill that grants a shield to the bearer in the case of Yuubee and the super-skill in the EDG skin have lines whose volume is significantly boosted.

We are aware of an audio issue with the SFX for Yuumi’s R on her EDG skin and the E on her Yuubee skin causing them to play louder than intended. Temporary SFX will be used for patch 13.5. We’re currently working on a fix that will ship with patch 13.6 to restore the intended SFX.

Riot, therefore, plans to use temporary sound effects, which will be replaced with target ones in the next update.

Fans who are looking forward to Yuumi’s changes can therefore rest easy knowing that the rework will not be delayed until the next patch due to the problem in question. The targeted SFX effects will make their way to League of Legends, but only in Update 13.6, which is scheduled for March 22.
