Riot notes the slip-up of the Star Guardian event in LoL and learns a lesson. There will be fewer visual novels

Rioter reveals some interesting facts about LoL events. Visual novels won’t be so common anymore.
One of the best-known employees of Riot Games, who designed Ziggs, Syndra or Varus, among others, has revealed some secrets about events. It turns out that the employee learned his lesson and noticed what the community didn’t like.
Ultimately, it came out that the problem was with the visual novels. The developers failed to make the Spirit Blossom event a success again despite two attempts, and it was decided that they would not appear as often anymore.
The end of visual novels?
Andrei “Meddler” Roon has become the head of the Riot studio. He currently oversees League of Legends, Wild Rift, and Teamfight Tactics. Probably older players know him well from the creation of such characters as Lissandra, Gnar, Syndra, Elise, Varus or the rework of Sejuani and Wukong. Now, in an interview with polygon.com, he has decided to speak on the topic of events.
Probably everyone remembers the last event. It’s hard to forget it, since so much happened in it. We are not talking about new game modes and interesting additions, because there were none of those, unfortunately. Instead, there were bugs, a whole bunch of errors and inconveniences, even at the very end, where tokens were taken away from players before the planned date.
Meddler, however, skipped this part of the event and focused on visual novels. He decided that they should not constantly appear and abandoned them for a while.
I think we’re seeing that the visual novel is probably something we shouldn’t be doing this often,It was great for Spirit Blossom, it’s a great tool to have in our repertoire, but it’s not something to lean on constantly.
He also mentioned PvE modes, which is what fans have been asking for for a long time. Here the developer also sees a small problem and it is the rapid loss of interest of the audience. This means that players get bored with this mode after a few matches. Thus, it is not as profitable as the next release of URF.

This only confirms what players have said about earning money from events and the monotony in them. They differ only in graphic design, while the missions, passes and general rules of operation remain the same and, as you can see, this will not change soon.
