Riot is changing a new item for LoL. It will no longer be Goliath’s Ascendancy, but Still-Beating Strength

The developers have decided to rename the item of the mythical Goliath’s Ascendancy.

The 2022 season in League of Legends is slowly coming to an end. Because of this, many players are starting to think about the upcoming big preseason. Riot made a little surprise for players and on the test server changed the name of one of the items.

Instead of Goliath’s Ascendancy, it will now be Still-Beating Strength. Players are not entirely happy about this fact, nor do they understand the reason behind such a decision.

The mythical item name change

Riot Games is currently testing new items on a test server, which are expected to hit the world’s largest MOBA game soon. The next pre-season will include jungle and item changes as standard. However, players were alarmed by what appears to be a small change. Instead of Goliath’s Ascendancy, it will now be Still-Beating Strength. The stats and icons have remained the same.

Player opinions about it are very mixed. A sizable portion believe that the name is completely meaningless and doesn’t sound as good as Goliath’s Ascendancy and is no longer associated with the mythical creature. Others, however, argue that it is better. The abbreviation for the former name is GA. So is Guardian Angela, by the way, so it is confusing. Now there will be no confusion – SBS.

This, however, did not reach Goliath’s supporters. As a counter-argument, they claim that it was enough to change the second part to “Legacy”, “Regency” or “Waistcoat”.

Perhaps, seeing such an argument among the community, the developers will take it into account and actually change only the second part. They have plenty of time to do so, as the items are only on the test server.
