How will Riot nerf Akali built for Turbo Chemtank?
From time to time, players discover combinations or interactions between heroes, items, runes, and even summoner spells. Some of them are viewed positively by Riot, but others are definitely not tolerated by designers. When a strategy becomes so popular that it is cumbersome to play against or is simply too strong, the developers quickly intervene and present the appropriate corrections.
This time we are talking about Akali, who recently very often starts with three Rejuvenation Beads, which guarantee high HP regeneration at the very beginning of the game. Opponents who have to deal with the heroine do not have an easy task.
Tactic used on Akali
Buying three Rebirth Beads right at the start of the game is not something new for characters like Garen, Nasus, and Darius. They don’t really stand out with a win rate, however Akali, who builds the Turbo Chemtank, became really popular and her playstyle is much more cumbersome than the heroes mentioned earlier.
This situation forced Riot to modify the item so that it was no longer abused, and players in the support role did not lose too much on health regeneration changes. Below you can take a look at the list of fixes that appeared on the test servers.

- Cost increased from 150 to 300 gold
- HP regeneration increased from 50% to 100%
- Crystalline Bracer
- Cost increased from 650 to 800 gold
- HP regeneration increased from 50% to 100%
- Knight’s Vow
- HP regeneration increased from 150% to 200%
The old price of the Rejuvenation Bead allowed the purchase of three items at the start of the game. The set provided about 12-15 HP per second depending on which champion decided to buy them. Extra health regeneration gives you a big advantage in the early linear phases, and offensive play is much less risky as HP lost in combat can be quickly regained.
The change Riot introduce will make the purchase of three Beads no longer possible, and the item itself will not be as strong at the start as before. This, in turn, will mean that Akali built for Turbo Chemtank will not be chosen so often by players.
