LoL players get banned for using this tactic despite winning matches. Riot considers this trolling
LoL players are banned for one strategy that has become very popular recently. It’s about playing top lane support heroes, of course.
We’ve been covering some examples of playing with top lane support champions for the past few weeks. This tactic is the result of many, very different changes made by Riot. The players outsmarted the developers once again and used characters such as:
- Janna
- Zilean
- Nami
- Yuumi
- Maokai
Roaming can actually be a good tactic, but it requires full team understanding. Since there will be changes in patch 12.4 that will prevent this from being used so efficiently, players are making the most of this tactic.
Ban for 2 weeks for playing like this
One Reddit user describes his case where he was banned for 2 weeks for playing “Smite Maokai” on top lane. On the same day, he also chose Nami and Yuumi.
The player played 300 matches this way, he had 56% winrate. He was in Diamond 1 when he was banned.
“saidenhide” has been playing a roaming tactic (AP Makoai) since the beginning of Season 10, communicating directly in chat what he is going to do and how he will play. Despite this, he was banned a few days ago. Of course, he went straight to the support department, while Riot wrote back to him that the ban was right, at the same time closing the ticket.
According to a Reddit user, he was banned for something that is part of his strategy. For something that worked and brought positive results. However, this was considered to be deliberately helping the opposing team.
Is the ban right? It is always controversial in such matters. The use of unusual tactics must be approved by the team. This is an issue that has arisen several times – the team must understand and want to play in a non-standard way. The only problem is that as long as you win, nobody will report anyone. Otherwise, you have to be careful.
