Riot confirms that it will be moving away from creating this type of characters in LoL
What are the Riot designers’ plans to create more League of Legends characters?
New heroes regularly find their way to League of Legends. Riot has specific plans for the roles that the added champions are designed for. The designers also told the community that at least one of the six characters released each year is not going to be human.
The players did not like the fact that virtually every hero that ended up in LoL was visually attractive, and no monsters had appeared in the game for a long time.
The creators announced that this is to change in 2022, and soon fans will be able to learn more about the upcoming void jungler. How does Riot currently address the theme of monsters in LoL?
Riot on more LoL champions
A lot of League of Legends players miss the times when non-human heroes appeared in the game on a regular basis. Recently, Riot has focused mainly on creating visually attractive humans.
Even if the creators decided to release a character who was not human, they were characters that would rather not scare anyone with their appearance. We are talking about Lillia or Yuumi, among others, and not about the real monsters that a large part of the community would like.
Reav3 – Lead Champion Producer wrote that soon Riot will meet the expectations of these fans as fewer humans will go to LoL.
Most likely, the next-to-release character to break that pattern is the Void jungler coming to LoL. It is also known that one of the next characters is to be a hero associated with Shurima.
