Players are asking Riot not to remove this bug from League of Legends. Why?

Why are players asking Riot not to get rid of a bug? Great interaction of Jhin’s skin.

League of Legends is known, among other things, for the fact that you can encounter a lot of bugs in the game. Some of them can have a key impact on the match result, but there are also some that are relatively harmless. What’s more, sometimes bugs look so interesting that players ask the developers not to remove them. This is the case now due to Jhin’s discovered error.

A bug that gamers love

You can find many skins in LoL. Virtually all released skins now receive new animations, and many of the more expensive skins, such as the legendary Mordekaiser, also present interesting scenery.

These unique animations are related to a recently discovered bug that mainly affects the Dark Cosmic skin, which belongs to Jhin. In addition, you can use EDG Zoe, PROJECT by Sylas, or the aforementioned Mordekaiser. As you can see in the video of Vandiril – a Youtuber, who bases his content mainly on errors from League of Legends, Jhin’s skin interacts with the previously mentioned skins.

The players enjoyed the interaction so much that there were joking requests to add some synth-wave music to this, as this would be a perfect match for Jhin’s Dark Cosmic bug in conjunction with PROJECT skins.

Jhin’s Ultimate and his interaction with this skin doesn’t end with Silas, however. Vandiril mentioned that Zoe’s ultimate is able to bug Zoe’s E when she has an EDG skin.

One commenter chose to provide an explanation of what actually led to these interactions. This, he wrote, is due to the interplay of texture masks.

Layer masks are used to prevent texture glitching by defining specific zones to emit a texture or effect in a restricted area or in a specific way. “E” of EDG Zoe uses a layer mask to constrain the appearance of the galaxy’s texture to a circle, but it just so happens to be in the same mask as Jhin’s Dark Cosmic Ultimate animation. This also applies to the animation of Sylas’ return or Mordekaiser’s ult.

Riot using the same way of defining the area in which a given texture is to be displayed has made the restriction on smaller skills pulled off by those that take up more space. Even though players would like the bug to stay in the game, Riot is most likely working on fixing it. Displaying this type of animation may surprise and, as a result, provide an advantage to the player who expected it.
