Until now, the rarest icon was the one given out for beta tests. Now, however, this changes.
Summoner icons don’t play an incredibly important role in LoL. However, they are a nice touch, an addition that can sometimes show that we are really OG players. The rarest icon was this:
500 people from all regions who signed up for the LoL beta in 2009 got it. It is difficult to judge how many of these players are still playing League of Legends, but the pool of people who got this icon is quite large, considering the fact that currently, only 10 people have the rarest icon.
Top 10 players
Last year, we wrote about the fact that Riot wants to make completely separate queues based on skill, behavior, etc. The skills first went to the project “Champions Queue”.
Not many people know about it because everything is organized on a special Discord. Yes, this is an officially Riot-backed queue. It has its own website and servers. Everyone thought that the leaks on other LoL queues were just rumors, but this is the first project of its kind working, and there will probably be more.
The best players receive cash and cosmetic prizes. Only a very small number of people have access to it. And even fewer people earn a special summoner icon for this queue. TOP 10 players get something like this:
The best players from the championship queue get it. By seeing this in the lobby, you should start preparing for loss. Although so far the queue is played in NA, so there is still some rescue.
Now the second season of the queue is starting, which will have its own separate MMR, a different way of counting LPs and a new icon. So Riot is constantly developing it and constantly changing something.
It can be expected that this is just the beginning. After positive tests, it is time for changes, and then perhaps for other regions and other such queues.
