LoL players taking ARAMs too seriously? Why is it no longer possible to have fun there?

Some League of Legends players are complaining about the recent ARAMs update. Why?
As most people probably already know, a rather significant Howling Abyss update recently came to the game. There was a lot of talk about it in terms of balance and the fact that, among other things, through towers tumbling over the map, melee heroes gained an advantage.
Some argued that such a refresh was needed and the new features work very well. Others felt that Riot needs to look at the conversion rates of various characters so that these are not too OP on ARAMs.
There are also those who are bothered by something completely different. It’s not the balance itself or the fact that the developers decided to change something. The problem is that the mode is no longer fun. Why?
ARAMs are no longer fun?
A Reddit user with the nickname IOnlyPlayLeague wrote a post stating that playing ARAMs is no longer as much fun as it used to be. The problem is not the changes themselves, but the fact that through them the community takes this game mode much more seriously so that there is little left of random and dynamic battles. Instead, players prefer to be attentive and analyze every decision.
ARAM seems less “for fun” with the recent changes. It’s been trending that way in the recent months, it seems like people are taking the game way too seriously and with the new turret terrain being pretty punishing combined with seemingly long death timers for how the game states play out, games end in being complete wipes and stomps more than before.
It felt like before there was a lot more skirmishing compared to now where a lot of players are playing conservatively to not get punished and then one team ends up getting punished anyway and the game is over.
It’s definitely feeling less fun playing ARAM.
The entry quoted above has received quite a lot of positive reviews, making it popular. Many players agree with the words of the author. This is very interesting because a few days ago there was talk about another popular post on Reddit, in which one of the players believed that the changes affected ARAMs incredibly positively, and it is thanks to them that the mode is even more fun. As you can see, opinions about the Howling Abyss update are strongly divided.
