The developers have posted changes for a future update. Nerfs and buffs for 9 characters, Maokai changes, and more.
Currently, the patches are being adapted to this year’s Worlds 2022 tournament. For this reason, players can expect that the buffs or nerfs of their favorite characters have nothing to do with the ranked queue.
This did not appeal to the community during the release of patch 12.16 and the Zeri nerfs, since her WR dropped to 40%. Now Riot is making strange decisions and worrying players again. So what do the creators want to nerf or buff?
Patch notes 12.17
At the moment, in a future update, which is scheduled for Thursday, September 8, 9 characters will receive nerfs. Similarly to buffs, they will also be given to 9 champions. Additionally, it was decided to change Hecarim, Maokai, and Hourglass with similar ones.

As Riot points out, the update won’t turn anything upside down. The creators only want to bring back a few situational picks to the meta and smooth out those that differ slightly from the norm. Players are surprised by the presence of Kassadin in buffs or Wukong in nerfs on this list.
