It’s been two years and the /mute all command in LoL still doesn’t work as it should
The /mute all command does something different than it should. This situation slowly irritates the players.
Probably everyone knows that League of Legends is not famous for its friendly and helpful community. Although you can also find such players, unfortunately, you can meet toxic and unpleasant people more often in games.
Developers struggle with this behavior and impose appropriate penalties, but often they appear too late or can be simply avoided. Consequently, many people use the /fullmute all and /mute all commands depending on who they want to mute. Unfortunately, few people know that the latter option does not work as intended.
The difference between /mute all and /full mute all
More experienced players know perfectly well that these two commands work, or rather they worked in separate ways. One was used to mute all interactions between an ally or an opponent, and the other only blocked the possibility of chat communication.
For over two years, which is probably after the introduction of emotes to the game, something broke and both commands work the same way. Whichever command is used, both pings and emotes, character interactions, and chat will be muted.
The players do not like this state of affairs. Some people used the /mute all command at the very beginning of the game to have peace of mind, and giving different hints as to what to do at the same time. Now they have to disable chat completely, and then typing is not possible.
Alternatively, players wishing to mute the chat itself must do so manually. Not only does it take some time, but it is often possible to forget about it and find out only when it is too late.
The community has been fighting for the restoration of the old system for a long time, but still unsuccessfully. Perhaps the developers can’t change this for some reason, but that seems unlikely.
