Did Riot reveal Ahri’s appearance after a visual update? Excerpt from the video that interested players
Players focused on an excerpt from the video that Riot published. Why did it arouse such emotions?
A video related to this year’s Pride Month has appeared on the web. For a long time, the creators of League of Legends have been preparing various themed additions – rainbow icons, emotes, and much more. Of course, gadgets with the LGBT + flag theme appeared not only in LoL, but also in other games from Riot Games – Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, or Valorant.
The video has all these novelties and shows that Riot supports sexual minorities and wants to make people from the LGBT + community feel comfortable and express themselves with cosmetic additives.
However, it was not this that caught the attention of most players. At the end of the video, you could see a short scene where five LoL characters run in different directions. Each of them leaves a different flag behind. Among them is Ahri. Her model differs from the one currently found in the game. What is it about?
ASU Ahri from LoL revealed?
First, it is worth remembering what an ASU update is at all. The creators of League of Legends described it like this:
An ASU is a visual refresh that allows us to bring a champion closer to modern expectations (or sometimes better match their representation in other areas of our IP). As such, these updates won’t heavily reimagine a champion’s lore or have any changes to their gameplay, which you’d normally see with a full VGU. With ASUs, we can fix certain elements of older champions that you’ve given us feedback on over the years—like broken necks and wrists, outdated animations, gameplay clarity improvements, outdated outfits and VO, etc. Also, ASUs are in addition to full VGUs, which the Champion Team will continue doing as usual.
Many players have long argued that Ahri, one of League of Legends’ most recognizable heroes, should get a visual update as her model is outdated and has some bugs that are quite noticeable. Fans point out that the character’s tails grow out of strange places, and her hands seem weirdly bent.

Ahri’s model from the Pride Month video:
Some viewers immediately noticed that the model shown is not one that everyone knows from Summoner’s Rift. Some said it was a preview of a visual fox update, others said there was nothing to get excited about as it could be a Wild Rift model, and as you probably know, champions often have refreshed outfits to better suit mobile gaming standards.
- ALSO – Zeri will get buffs in patch 12.11 in LoL. More damage, less CD and “W” critting through walls

So we got a bit of a teaser for the Ahri ASU in that 2022 Pride Trailer, looks like they went with the Wild Rift design
Between Wild Rift/LoR/Ruined King designs I do think LoR is the best one but hey, still looks 100x better than she her current model
More ASU’s plz rito >:(
Another player also stated that Ahri’s LoR project is by far the best (picture above). Commenting on the video, they wrote:
I really wanter Lor’s design to win honestly but i guess Wildrifts is fine too
