A very unusual fanart from League of Legends. The author used threads and nails. How did it come out?

League of Legends

One of the female fans has shown Jinx in a very original way.

LoL players show their creativity in many ways. Most often, these are, of course, drawings, whether in the form of fan arts of existing characters and skins, or completely new concepts of heroes and skins. The second popular form of artistic expression in the game’s fandom is cosplay, i.e. dressing up as specific champions.

From time to time, there are people who want to do it in a different way. In the past, there were articles about fan groups who decided to build Summoner’s Rift from plasticine, paper, or Lego bricks. There were also people who recreated the weapons of the game heroes in the real world. The time has come for something else. This time it is a fanart made of threads and nails.

An unusual Jinx portrait

A short video has appeared on the web where you can see one of the LoL fans creating something with threads and nails. Probably, without watching the video, many people wouldn’t be able to imagine what such a process might look like. In a nutshell – it is about hooking multicolored threads to nails so that after applying many layers, you get a specific picture.

The author of the work is Thread_Art. In a short video, he showed how this type of fan art is created. In the background of the recording, you can hear the song Imagine Dragons – Enemy, so we can safely say that the Arcane animated series was a great inspiration to create the image of Jinx.

The video quickly became very popular. On League of Legends Reddit, it got over 15,000 positive reactions in just a few hours. Many commentators thought that the fan art looks really great and it is interestingly different from typical drawings or cosplays.

Curious players asked the author about information related to her hobbies. It turns out that Thread_Art has been creating these types of work for 2 years. Creating a single one requires several dozen hours. The artist admitted that this one took her over 30 hours.

In addition, the author revealed that he uses a computer base for her projects, and then independently selects colors and refines details.
