Being an anti-hero in Hogwarts Legacy. Did the developers provide an alternative path of play?
The possibility to play in several ways always adds a lot of potential to the game, if it is executed well. Not everyone always likes to be the good guy who saves the world, and there are players who prefer to be the people who are usually fought in games.
Certainly, many Harry Potter fans have not only wondered what it would be like to be a wizard in the world of the well-known universe but also thought about playing one of the evil characters you could meet in the books or movies. Will the Hogwarts Legacy game allow for this?
Is it possible to be evil in Hogwarts Legacy?
The answer to the question posed is not clear. It is not possible to become an evil character that all good characters will face. However, it is possible to use dark magic and play as a sinister wizard within the walls of Hogwarts. Due to the fact that the game will belong to the RPG genre, the player will have quite a few options for modifying their character. Choosing a house and developing magical skills are just some of them.
One of the selectable houses is Slytherin, from which many wizards with evil intentions came, but this is not something that suggests that it will be possible to play the role of an evil character in Hogwarts Legacy. At the end of one of the trailers, it was mentioned that the character could “take a darker path,” showing how the Avada Kedavra spell knocks down an unknown opponent.
This world also hides dangers that are beyond comprehension. Dungeons and crypts hide dangers, but also untold rewards. Be careful where you choose to venture, however, as it may lead you down a dark path.
Choosing your path
In the gameplay status video released by the game’s developers, it can be noted that it is possible to befriend selected students and gain a companion. One of them can be a “charismatic Slytherin student,” who can certainly draw the player into some interesting situations. In addition, the player’s character has a special ability to wield ancient forgotten magic, which makes the player-controlled character a great candidate for deciding the fate of the game world.
Although the game allows you to take a “darker” path, based on what could be seen in the videos released by the developers so far, you will most likely have to face dark wizards at some point.
However, it has been confirmed that the choices the player makes will affect the fate of the main character and even the game’s ending.
Other interactions with different characters may also offer other choice points for the player. Some of these things may affect the entire game – such as the lives of the characters or the ending of the storyline.
Many things remain unclear. What is certain is that to some extent the player will be able to feel like one of the evil characters known from the universe. However, it is not known whether a separate ending is planned for this approach to gameplay.
