A gameplay video of Skate 4 has leaked. The players are not hiding that they have mixed feelings
Fans have long wanted to know what is happening with the continuation of Skate. The latest gameplay leak met with mixed reactions.
The community demanded the continuation of Skate 3, so the developers decided to meet these expectations. Quite recently, Electronic Arts announced work on this production. A recent gameplay leak has split fans between those who are positive and those who are not very optimistic about it.
What does the video look like and what do the fans dislike?
Below you can watch a video that was posted by Jeff Grubb on his social media. It’s 33 seconds of gameplay, which shows a very early stage of the game where the player is driving along the road and performing a few tricks.
This is Skate 4 pre-alpha footage. This is in line with what I’ve heard about where the game is at from multiple people. (The developers – editorial note) are trying to get the feel right, which is probably the most important aspect of a Skate game.
To me, this is all exciting. It looks like the emphasis is on the fluidity of the animation, and it seems like EA is making good on its desire to give all its devs ample time to prototype (the Respawn method).
Tom Henderson has a much less optimistic approach:
The disappointment of the community may be caused by the fact that the game is really in its early stages of development. The title is not looking good yet, but according to reports, the developers focus primarily on the mechanics.
