RANKED AND COMPETITIVE

Ranked Season Zero is underway. Season Zero lasts until the end of Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season 3. We are continuing to use this time to make necessary adjustments such as improving queue times, making sure matchmaking puts you against similarly-ranked opponents, and more. For more information, please see our “A Fortnite Ranked Update for Season Zero” blog post.

In Battle Royale Chapter 4 Season 3, your rank will, among other factors, be an eligibility requirement for Epic-hosted tournaments. This includes tournaments for cosmetic prizes like FNCS Community Cups, as well as tournaments for cash prizes such as Console Champions Cup. You can find the specific rank requirement for some of the tournaments happening this Season below or in the official rules for that tournament.

FNCS Community Cup Bronze I in Battle Royale Ranked
Duos Fill Cup Silver I in Battle Royale Ranked
Zero Build Duos Fill Cup Silver I in Zero Build Ranked
Solo Victory Cash Cup Gold I in Battle Royale Ranked
Zero Build Duos Victory Cash Cup Gold I in Zero Build Ranked
Duos Cash Cup Gold I in Battle Royale Ranked
Console Champions Cup Platinum I in Battle Royale Ranked
FNCS Major 3 Platinum I in Battle Royale Ranked

RANK RESET

As part of Season Zero, we plan on resetting everyone’s rank. This reset will be a test run of resetting ranks, as we would do during a Seasonal turnover before we enter Chapter 4 Season 4 Ranked. This also gives us an opportunity to continue iterating on our systems at a fast pace. We’re targeting v25.10 for the reset, and we’ll keep you updated as we get closer.

Please see below for additional details on what competitive offerings will be taking place over the course of Chapter 4 Season 3.

SCORING UPDATES

In Chapter 4 Season 3, we’re introducing an all-new way to earn tournament points: for completing objectives throughout each match. In addition to earning points for final match placement and earned eliminations, players will be able to score bonus points by completing the following mid-match objectives in tournaments where these objectives are offered:

  • Opening a Combat Cache
  • Opening a Vault
  • Capturing the rifting-in POI

We are keeping a close eye on these mid-match objectives and may make adjustments to how many points are awarded for successfully completing them throughout the season.

In future seasons we hope to continue to introduce new ways to earn tournament points through mid-match objectives.

COMPETITIVE BAN POLICY CHANGE

In Chapter 4 Season 3, we’ve made changes to our policy on competitive bans and their impact on FNCS eligibility. Previously, players who received a competitive ban of 14 days or longer were ineligible to participate in both the then-current FNCS season and the next FNCS season. Under our new policy, players who receive a competitive ban of 14 days or longer will only be ineligible to participate in either the then-current FNCS event (e.g., an FNCS Major) or the next FNCS event, if there isn’t an FNCS event being held at the time of that 14-day competitive ban.

This new policy takes effect with the start of Chapter 4 Season 3, which means anyone actioned under the prior policy during Chapter 4 Season 2 has a fresh start going into FNCS Major 3 and will be eligible to participate as long as they meet all other eligibility requirements.

COMPETITIVE FORTNITE FAQ

WHERE CAN I FIND THE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE?

You can find the tournament schedule on our website at fortnite.com/competitive under “Calendar.” You can also find your local region’s start times in the “Compete” tab in-game.

CAN I COMPETE IN MULTIPLE REGIONS THIS SEASON?

You will only be able to compete in one region’s competitive offerings this Season. Once a player participates in a region in any competitive event, they will be locked to that region for any subsequent sessions of that event.

CAN I SWITCH TEAMMATES BETWEEN FNCS WEEKS?

Yes, you can swap teammates between FNCS weeks as long as all participating players are eligible for FNCS. Please note: If you do swap teammates between FNCS weeks, you will not be able to transfer FNCS Series Points that were earned with your previous team over to your new team.

CAN I SWAP TO DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS DURING TOURNAMENTS?

No. Attempting to use an alternate account during the same FNCS session may result in disqualification.

CAN I SWAP TO DIFFERENT DEVICES DURING FNCS?

No. Once you participate in an FNCS event (e.g., an FNCS Major) on an eligible device, you will need to use the same kind of device for the rest of that FNCS event. Attempting to use a different device (for example: switching consoles, switching PCs, or switching from console to PC or vice versa) on the same account at any point during an FNCS event may result in disqualification.

CAN MULTIPLE PLAYERS USE THE SAME DEVICE DURING FNCS?

No. Attempting to use multiple accounts on the same device to compete in FNCS may result in disqualification.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO REPORT A SUSPECTED CHEATER IN TOURNAMENTS?

Please report any suspicious activity in our official Tournament Support Discord and through the in-game reporting tools. You can also use the Discord Server to report any tournament issues or bugs experienced during tournament gameplay.
