Elon Musk uses his own money to “maintain” three celebrity Twitter accounts.
Currently, on Twitter, everyone has to pay for a blue stamp if they want to have it on their profile. This includes people who already had a verified account. However, there are three exceptions to this list.
Elon Musk himself pays subscriptions to three celebrities to still remain verified. The best part is that everyone had previously criticized the billionaire’s addition of this option.

Elon Musk quickly began making controversial decisions after taking over Twitter. One of them was the introduction of a premium option called Twitter Blue. In addition to a number of useful additions, it gives a blue stamp on a profile to signify a verified account. Until April 20, however, it was visible on the profiles of previously verified people, but from that date, everyone must pay for it, except for the three exceptions mentioned earlier.
He is the actor who played the role of James T. Kirk in the Star Trek series – William Shatner, so it is rather unsurprising that it is to him that Elon gave the subscription. In addition to him, the list includes American basketball player LeBron James and the king of horror, acclaimed writer Stephen King. The latter this morning added a post in which he laughed at the situation.
Perhaps Elon Musk is doing this to keep well-known names on the platform. Stephen King announced some time ago that he would leave the platform if he lost his blue stamp.
Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk also does not want to redeem the stamp.
However, in his case, Elon was no longer so willing to pay $8, or about $44 a month, because that’s what the service costs.
