How did China copy Discord? This application is not available there, but a solution was quickly found

Although Discord in China is officially banned, the Chinese have their own version of the platform.

Normally you would think the Chinese just took Discord and made their own version because they liked it that way. Well, not this time. The DC copy was created mainly due to Chinese restrictions.

Discord is unavailable in China, at least officially. So the Chinese copied Discord, but more because of the circumvention of restrictions than the desire to earn – at least that’s what Chinese sources say.

What does Chinese Discord look like?

At first glance, it is difficult to find any differences. The messenger has exactly the same functions, it works in the same way. It’s just the Chinese version of it.

It gets weird when you enter the server list. Most of them either refer to government, K-Pop, or anime. What is most noticeable, however, is the logo of the platform itself.

China has once again shown that it can copy virtually anything. Both communicators, although they have nothing in common with each other, look almost the same in many respects.

Will Discord want to do something about it? Rather not, at least until the company officially enters the Chinese market.
