Discord has started testing changes of private messages that will affect a lot of people.
There has been a lot of talk in the Discord community to fix a few issues strictly related to private messaging. DMs suffer from several ailments, one of which is forcibly adding people to whom you want to write something to your friends list.
Now that will change. The platform has started testing, thanks to which messages from strangers will be filtered. What will it do? It’s like the “Other” folder on Facebook – messages will end up there.
“Message Request” on Discord
The function does not have translations so far, and in English documents, it appears as “Message Request”.
It’s certainly a good thing, as long as Discord will allow you to completely mute that folder. Then people would actually benefit from it, especially administrators or moderators of the largest servers, who currently have a whole lot of requests to add to friends.
At the moment it is being tested and it is not known when it will be introduced. Different functions require different testing periods, so this ranges from several weeks to even several months.
