Discord confirmed it, so better think twice. If you get banned, all your accounts will be blocked

Yesterday we reported about a new feature that Discord has added. Today it is known that the platform can use this in a rather non-obvious way.

Discord allows you to switch between accounts. The function is still being tested, so only a limited number of users have access to it. The whole function is very simple and is about relogging more efficiently.

The Account Switching is a beta testing feature. It allows Discord users with multiple accounts to easily access and switch between them.

For example, you have two accounts, one main and one alternative. Instead of logging in on a different browser, you simply change accounts in the same browser. This has its huge advantages, but as it turns out, it does have a downside.

In case of a ban, Discord will ban all accounts

The international FAQ clearly says that if one of the accounts receives a block from Discord for breaking the regulations, the platform will also ban all alternative accounts that were connected to the switch.

And in theory, it is “more likely”, but it can be taken simply as confirmation that DC can and will rather ban anything, especially in the case of these more severe violations. So if you upload 18+ content or any other content that is at risk of banishment, it is worth rethinking linking different accounts to one client or browser.
