Did you know that Google Maps features the Loch Ness Monster? It’s a little-known Easter egg

Entertaining

Google Maps hides some interesting facts, but this one definitely not many people knew about.

Google Maps is really a very powerful program that is still developing. It really hides a lot of curiosities, some of which can be really mysterious, and some of which probably haven’t even been discovered yet.

Many people really enjoy exploring Google Maps just out of their own curiosity. Some people even treat the program as a free vacation, for it allows them to see a mass of unreachable places in the world. With the development of the Internet, there have even been many easter eggs related to some places on earth, and this is how some people will just find out that there is a Loch Ness Monster on Google Maps.

The Loch Ness Monster according to Google really exists… on their map

The Loch Ness Monster is an old Scottish legend that tells of mysterious creatures or animals inhabiting the lake of that very name. The story of the unfathomable monster has become so popular over the years that the Loch Ness Monster has appeared more than once in many animations, TV series, and movies. Many people claim to have at one time seen it with their own eyes.

Whether the Loch Ness Monster is real or not – we can leave this question to experts and researchers. However, Google has decided to capitalize on the well-known Scottish legend and create its own creature around Loch Ness Lake on Google Maps.

In 2014, many fans of virtual maps noticed that Google had introduced a ride on the Loch Ness Monster in the local waters. Of course, this was one of the first such easter eggs in the program.

Later, for some reason, the option was removed, but replaced by another, equally interesting one. Now, if we appear in the area of Lake Loch Ness and want to put a familiar yellow man in one of the places on the map, the man will change…. into the Loch Ness Monster. Just a friendlier, cartoon version.

Google decided to make the Loch Ness Monster a bit more interesting and add a typical Scottish red checkered helmet with a pom-pom. It must be admitted that it looks really nice. Of course, any Google Maps user can check for themselves the veracity of such an easter egg, but you have to take into account the fact that such a possibility exists only on a computer, not a mobile application.
