The Witcher 3 won 260 awards, while Cyberpunk 2077 was awarded over 200 times before its premiere, which was even emphasized by CDPR itself, boasting about how positively the media evaluate the product.
Some of these praises still apply, such as a well-crafted world that is fun to explore. On the other hand, the words “May be the best game ever made” seem quite abstract.
The expectations were enormous, and it ended with the game being withdrawn from the Sony store, a huge stock drop, a process of fixing absolutely crucial bugs over the course of several months. Cyberpunk also ended up in a museum of failed products.
However, there is still a chance that this title will defend itself with great extensions or large patches to fix all the bugs.
