CDPR answers players’ questions why there are no police chases in Cyberpunk 2077
It is not the first time that CDPR developers have answered questions about why the police potential was not used in Cyberpunk 2077.
The police in Cyberpunk 2077 plays a rather small role. The number of chases is lacking, and many people simply miss this element of the game entirely. Especially when you sit down to play Cyberpunk 2077 after playing GTA.
Developers answered the question about the police, chases, and the community created out of this one great meme. The case gained popularity, while the “meme” was a compilation cut off at a very convenient point:
Here, the developers are just starting to explain that many open-world productions simply do not have this type of mechanic. However, this does not mean that the developers did not want to add more chases to Cyberpunk.
What was the real reason?
It turns out that the real reason is quite trivial. There is no bigger philosophy here, no amazing story behind it, or some bigger developer agenda. As we hear, there were many limitations, including technological ones, that prevented from adding more functions and overall content related to the chases.
Perhaps there will be more chases someday, but that’s not for sure. You have to wait for extensions and hope that the developers hear the requests of players.
It is also worth mentioning that you can easily find the right mods on the Internet that “activates” police that reacts to crimes.
