Will there be a 4th part of Spider-Man? Tom Holland: “We have put all talks on hold”

Tom Holland reveals that he himself is not entirely sure about the Spider-Man sequel. “We’ll wait and see,” he says.

Tom Holland is definitely a favorite when it comes to actors who have played the role of Peter Parker in the Spider-Man universe and Marvel as a whole. It is known that the actor has long dreamed of getting this role, which he finally succeeded.

So far we have seen 3 parts of Spider-Man, in which Tom Holland appears as the main character, not counting, of course, the Avengers or other films from the MCU. And they were:

  • Spider-Man: Far From Home,
  • Spider-Man Homecoming,
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Will there be a 4th part of Spider-Man? Tom Holland doubts

We could see the last part of Spider-Man starring Tom Holland at the end of 2021, less than 2 years ago. It’s worth recalling that for Marvel, movies come out on average every 3 years. We already have the next Avengers announced for 2025 and 2026, as well as Captain America or Iron Man. That’s why some have begun to wonder when we’ll get to see the next Spider-Man in theaters.

Tom Holland on the occasion of the recent series premiere for Apple TV – “The Crowded Room” – in which he plays the role of Danny, takes part in frequent interviews. This gives journalists the opportunity to ask him not only about his new role but especially about the one for which he is best known – Spider-Man and Peter Parker.

In an interview with Inverse, the young actor confirmed that there are a lot of interesting things going on in his career lately, but he can’t reveal any details. Instead, he said that he is quite uncertain about the future regarding his Spider-Man.

Whether or not it’ll come to fruition, who knows? But right now it’s looking pretty good, and we’ll just have to wait and see – Tom Holland on the fourth installment of Spider-Man.

In addition to this, Holland revealed to Variety reporters that some talks about a sequel are indeed underway, or rather have been.

I can say that we have been having meetings. We’ve put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers. There’s been multiple conversations had, but at this point it’s very, very early stages.

Recall that there is currently an official strike by writers and screenwriters in the US, who want to win less interference by artificial intelligence in their work. The protests have affected a lot of businesses, and due to the rapid development of AI, it doesn’t look like there will be a settlement anytime soon. However, many companies are backing their workers and have halted work on popular series – such as Stranger Things from Netflix and The Last of Us from HBO Max – in solidarity.
