This scene in the latest John Wick 4 was inspired by this video game. It was confirmed by the film’s director himself

The director of the latest installment of John Wick has confirmed speculation about a scene from the film that fans associated with a certain video game.

John Wick is one of the many beloved film series telling the story of a paid assassin from America. The first film aired in 2014 and has lived up to four installments, the latest of which premiered a few days ago.

Many people have already seen the latest installment of John Wick. By this time, there have actually been a lot of reviews, with people all over the Internet sharing their opinions. However, not everyone knows that a certain scene in the film was inspired by a video game. This was said by the director himself – Chad Stahelski.

What game was the director inspired by in the new John Wick?

Those who have seen the fourth installment of John Wick in theaters will probably be familiar with the scene in which the main character, equipped with a special weapon, clears room after room in a huge fiery shootout. Many have compared this scene to the ones in a video game called “Hotline Miami.” Unfortunately, one leaker revealed that this was not the production the director had in mind.

And while “Hotline Miami” is a pretty accurate observation, Chad Stahelski was inspired by a completely different indie game in this case, and that was “Hong Kong Massacre.” And while you can guess what the game is about from the screenshot below, it’s worth taking a closer look online at the entire gameplay and comparing for yourself whether the scene from John Wick 4 really reflects what the director wanted to focus on.
