What is worth knowing about the next divine guardian from Pokemon GO – Tapu Bulu?

The most important information about another legendary creature from the Alola region.

A few days ago, the Spring into Spring event began in Pokemon GO, which introduced many attractions and bonuses to the game, and during the event, some of the creatures appear in the spring edition (more information about the event can be found here: The Spring into Spring event in Pokemon GO has started – list of tasks and rewards from “An Ula’ula Adventure”).

Spring in Pokemon GO brought another interesting attraction, which was the premiere of another legendary creature from the Alola region. By now, players have already met Tapu Koko and Tapu Lele, so it’s time forTapu Bulu. What is known about him? Who is it inspired by and what is its character?

Tapu Bulu in Pokemon GO

Tapu Bulu is the legendary grass and fairy type Pokemon introduced in Generation VII. He is the divine guardian of Ula’ula Island. Other islands also have their guardians, which are:

  • Tapu Koko,
  • Tapu Lele,
  • Tapu Fini.

Tapu Bulu has no gender and it is not known if it evolves from or into another Pokemon.

Tapu Bulu in anime

Tapu Bulu appears to be based on a bull. It may also be inspired by Lono, one of the four major Hawaiian gods.

Lono is the god of thunder agriculture and fertility, although his personality could take many forms. He was most venerated during the annual Makahiki harvest festival, held from November to January, when his image was flaunted by the chiefs’ entourages.

Tapu Bulu comes from tapu (Hawaiian for “holy”) and bull.

Tapu Bulu is black with white markings. It has a long tail with a yellow bell-like end and two arms that resemble yellow hooves. It has two horns on its head, and they have the shell with yellow tips on top. It’s nose is yellow triangular and has a white ring-like structure through it. It has red around its two arms and under its eyes. Tapu Bulu can close its shell to resemble a bull’s head.

It is a very lazy Pokémon. It rings its bell-like tail to signal its location.

It has the ability to grow and control plants.
