The creators of Pokemon GO revealed the attractions that will appear on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the game’s release.
This holiday, the mobile game about pocket creatures is celebrating its 6th birthday. It’s hard to believe that for so many years Pokemon GO has been motivating players around the world to actively spend time outdoors. Probably many fans remember the beginnings of this title very well.
The creators are happy that such a huge community has been with them for 6 years and they are still eagerly catching more Pokemon, performing tasks, and developing their accounts. What was prepared for the 6th anniversary of Pokemon GO? The anniversary event will start in a few days.
Anniversary event in Pokemon GO
The Pokemon Go 6th Birthday event begins on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, and will run until July 12, 2022.
On this occasion, the following attractions are planned:
- Charmeleon wearing a party hat, Charizard wearing a party hat, and Pikachu wearing a cake-shaped costume make their debut in Pokemon GO.
- The following creatures will appear in the wild: Bulbasaur, Charmander in a party hat, Squirtle, Pikachu in a cake-shaped costume, Machop, Ledyba, Ralts, Buneary, Venipede, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Bunnelby, Litleo, and Pikipek.
- Anyone lucky will find Gabite, Clauncher and Helioptile.
- During the raids, the following opponents of the event will appear:
- 1-star raids: Pikachu in a cake-shaped costume, Dratini,
- 3-star raids: Venusaur, Charizard in a party cap, Blastoise, Tyranitar, Metagross,
- 5-star raid: Zapdos,
- Mega Raids: Mega Charizard X, Mega Charizard Y.
- The following Pokemon can be obtained from the Field Research tasks: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Rowlet, Litten, Popplio.
- Thematic items for the characters celebrating the game’s 6th birthday will be available in the store.
- Birthday stickers will also be available.
Battle Weekend
The Battle Weekend will take place from midnight on Saturday 9 July until 23:59 on Sunday 10 July.
On this occasion, the following bonuses will be active:
- The GO Rocket balloons will appear every three hours.
- Up to 20 GO Battle League sets every day.
- 4 x Stardust from GO Battle League rewards.
- ChargedTM will teach the Shadow Pokemon to unleash a Frustration Charged Attack.
Shadow Latios
Giovanni doesn’t do anything halfway. After Trainers around the world saved Shadow Latias, the Team GO Rocket boss just had to get his hands on Shadow Latios—and now it needs your help! Get ready to face off against Giovanni and rescue Shadow Latios!
Shadow Pokémon
Team GO Rocket Grunts—as well as their leaders, Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo—are also using different Shadow Pokémon. Help Spark, Blanche, and Candela overcome their adversaries and rescue the Shadow Pokémon! If you’re lucky, you may encounter different Shiny Shadow Pokémon than normal, too!
In addition, Team GO Rocket has also turned the following Pokémon into Shadow Pokémon. Defeat Team GO Rocket Grunts to save them!
- Geodude,
- Shinx,
- Purrloin,
- and others.
The Special Research event dedicated to Giovanni will also be active. You will receive a Super Rocket Radar for completing it.
The quests will be available until the end of the Season of GO, on September 1, 2022.
