Is there too much emphasis on raids in Pokemon GO? Players would like to see events become more elaborate and diverse

Are Pokemon GO developers focusing too much on raids?

Raids in the game from Niantic are an incredibly important part of the gameplay. It is through them that you can get most of the legendary creatures. During events, raids feature event opponents, often with unique outfits or seasonal decorations.

Raiding is also a way to spend time with friends or collect items and experience points. Just are the developers focusing too much on this element? According to some, they do.

The problem of raids in Pokemon GO

The game’s events often follow a very similar pattern – new event tasks, a pool of creatures that appear in the wild, bonuses (such as shortening the distance needed to hatch an egg), sometimes a collectible challenge, new items for avatars, and themed raids.

Each event has Legendary Pokémon and Mega Evolutions that can be done after a battle during a raid.

According to some players, such a scheme is a bit boring. If one were to leave out the legendary Pokémon, quite a few events – according to fans from Reddit and Twitter, among others – offer nothing interesting.

The creators themselves are promoting the events with the fact that a particular legendary Pokemon will return in the events, which of course will be available during raids.

After the rather high-profile and extensive drama related to Remote Raid Passes, a sizable portion of the community felt that it was high time to change something in the design of events so that they offer more of a different kind of content. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to introduce more interesting tasks or challenges, a larger pool of creatures that hatch from eggs, or add something completely new that hasn’t been in the game before.

There are in fact many possibilities, and it all depends on the willingness and commitment on the part of the developers. The community hopes that Niantic will listen to the request and change something in the construction of events or add a slight breath of fresh air to them from time to time.
