A Mega Moment event in Pokemon GO – everything you need to know about it

The Mega Evolution update event in Pokemon GO has started.

A few days ago it was announced that the game’s Mega Evolution system would be overhauled and refreshed to make it more profitable for the community. The creators want to encourage trainers to use Mega Form creatures that were introduced many months ago and more of them are regularly added.

On the occasion of the Mega Evolution update, Niantic has introduced a short event to the game, during which you can get a lot of Mega Energy and more.

A Mega Moment in Pokemon GO

The event started on Friday, April 29, 2022, and will last until Sunday, May 1, 2022.

On this occasion, the following attractions are planned:

  • Mega Kangaskhan’s debut. The new form of Pokemon will appear in Mega Raids.
  • The following creatures will appear in the wild: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Slowpoke, Gastly, Mareep, Buneary, and Snover.
  • The game will have thematic Field Research:
    • Power-up Pokemon 5 times: 25 x random Mega Energy,
    • Power-up Pokemon 10 times: 70 x random Mega Energy.
      • Important: Mega Energy can go into any Mega Evolutions that came into the game before the addition of Mega Kangaskhan. In his case, getting Energy is possible only from raids.
  • Event Special Research will be available (list of tasks below).
  • Pokemon Mega Evolutions will receive a bonus to CP.

Stage 1 of 4

  • Catch 3 Pokémon: Bulbasaur
  • Catch 3 Pokémon: Charmander
  • Catch 3 Pokémon: Squirtle

Rewards: 500 XP, 200 x Stardust, 10 x PokeBall

Stage 2 of 4

Before this stage, you will be able to choose one of 3 Pokemon: Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise. The choice will affect which Mega Energy will appear in the rewards.

  • Catch 5 Pokemon: 10 x PokeBall
  • Use 5 fruits when catching Pokemon: 10 x Great Ball
  • Power-up a Pokemon 5 times: 10 x Razz Berry

Rewards: 200 x Mega Energia, 1 x Premium Battle Pass, Venusaur, Charizard, or Blastoise.

Stage 3 of 4

  • Get 5 hearts from your buddy: 50 x Mega Energy
  • Power-up a Pokemon 10 times: 50 x Mega Energy
  • Mega evolve Pokemon: 1 x Charged TM

Rewards: 1000 XP, 600 x Stardust, 100 x Mega Energia

Stage 4 of 4

  • Win a raid: 6 x Revive
  • Defeat a Team GO Rocket member: 2 x Silver Pinap Berry
  • Take a picture of your buddy: 6 x Hyper Potion

Rewards: 2000 XP, 1500 x Stardust, 100 x Mega Energia
