It seems that Overwatch players have learned the roles of the next characters that will appear in the second and the first part of the game.
In the first phase of the Overwatch 2 beta, players only have the opportunity to test one new character, Sojourn. However, it is officially known that this is not all. The announcement on the Blizzard website clearly states:
Several extraordinary heroes will be joining the current soldiers, scientists, and adventurers of Overwatch. Whether you like to lead the charge as a tank, ambush enemies with powerful damage, or empower and aid your allies, there’s a new hero for you–and many more to come.
Of course, this does not necessarily mean that these new characters will appear in the beta, but there is such a chance.
The roles of the next heroes
Next to this message, you can see the character of Sojourn with two more, yet undisclosed characters on the sides. The role of one is the tank, the other is support.
A theory soon developed that a beta could have a total of three phases, and that one new champion would be revealed during each of these phases. It makes sense, but it hasn’t been confirmed in any way. Zenofy was the first to come up with this theory:
You can suspect that at least three new characters will appear either before the premiere or already at the premiere.
