Ramattra has so far functioned as a “mysterious omnic”. Overwatch players have known about him for a really long time.
Practically everyone knew that the omnic, which was shown in one of the missions, would play an important role in the Overwatch world. There were many theories about the fact that he would actually be made available as a character.
Eventually, the community’s guesses were confirmed and Ramattra will indeed enter the game. Recall that the omnic first appeared in the “Black Clouds” mission.

Blizzard loves to tease, and this time we had to wait a couple of years for an explanation of the matter. Recall that the mission “Black Clouds” happened 2019, and players had to be extremely patient.
The 1,298 days give hope that Overwatch 2 will feature other characters that are no longer obvious, such as the now legendary Mama Hong.
