Blizzard has just reduced event skins in Overwatch 2, they are now only purchasable with paid currency

As announced, some very strong changes took place tonight.

If anyone missed this moment and wanted to purchase event skins with the old currency, they will be severely inconsolable. It’s worth mentioning here that while this decision by Blizzard is controversial, the developers had previously announced it and gave OW1 players the opportunity to purchase the skins before the release of the second installment.

If you didn’t make it, the only thing left now is to buy event skins for credits. Feedback from the community is naturally really bad about this, but it’s hard to be particularly surprised.

Only for credits

The information is very simple – event skins from now on can only be purchased with premium currency. There is no longer an option to buy them for the old currency. This means that in order to buy an event skin, you have to spend real money.

This is not an abrupt decision, Blizzard informed that this is how it will be. However, it doesn’t change the fact that the overall feedback about it is very bad. People were left with masses of credits that they were holding just for event skins.
