World’s first arrest for using ChatGPT. A bit of an overreaction

The media has just woken up, as this is the first such situation in the world where someone was caught for a crime using ChatGPT.

The popularity of chat using AI continues to grow. It can be said that people have only recently become more widely aware of its existence and have begun to use it for various purposes.

Sure, no one is going to put us behind bars for asking ChatuGPT to write a paper for us for school, but it seems that people have indeed found in it a function for doing things that are not necessarily legal. The media just heard about a man from China who was arrested for this.

Man arrested for crime using ChatGPT

The case is very fresh, as it was only in the last few hours that the world learned about it, and the media started publicizing the case. In China, a man has just been arrested for using ChatuGPT to create a story about a train accident that circulated on the Chinese Internet and television in late April.

As it turned out, such an event did not happen at all. The case was reported at least by Dexerto, which was among the first to learn about the situation.

And maybe the situation wouldn’t be so serious if it weren’t for the fact that China has very strict regulations regarding content created by artificial intelligence. Among other things, this means that if you already want to publish something on the Chinese Internet that was created by ChatGPT, for example, it must be clearly and prominently marked.

The man, unfortunately, did not do this, publishing a story about a train accident, so the matter circulated throughout the Chinese media and turned out to be very media-savvy. However, once it became clear that this was not true, the man was arrested. Unfortunately, it is not known what his purpose was in releasing false information on such a scale. However, this is the first such situation in the world.
