Why doesn’t Riot recommend using third-party programs for LoL? How risky is it?
Why should players not use third-party LoL applications?
League of Legends, like virtually every game in which you compete with other players, has problems with third-party programs and all kinds of supporters that allow you to significantly improve your effectiveness in the game.
However, not all third-party programs are used to gain an advantage. Some of the tools can be used to replace the skin only on the computer of the person who uses the program, or, for example, to hide your online status. While they don’t give you any advantage, Riot doesn’t recommend using them. Why?
Seemingly harmless programs
There have long been discussions in the League of Legends community about missing features that the community would definitely use. One of them is the ability to set your status to offline to hide it from friends.
Even though Riot did not implement a solution that would satisfy the player, the response included a link to a fan-made Deceive app that does exactly what the person commenting asked for.
However, another user asked an important question as to whether the use of this type of program could have any consequences, such as, for example, blocking the account. This question was answered by one of the Rioters – riotdanhonks.
- ALSO – Several dialogue lines of the new character can be heard on the League of Legends test servers
So the problem isn’t just using non-Riot software, but what they can do. Even if the application is not intended to provide an advantage, it is not known whether its author will decide to modify the code without first informing users. This, on the other hand, may result in the account being blocked, as it is well known that using the programs to get a benefit is not in accordance with Riot’s rules.
