The new post-game UI in LoL is terrible? Gamers complain and say it looks like it’s from a mobile game

League of Legends

The League of Legends community comments on the latest changes in the client.

Patch 12.9 introduced a lot of news to League of Legends. In addition to balancing heroes and items, the game has finally released the long-announced Challenges (see: Everything you need to know about League of Legends Challenges. New feature guide).

As the new graphics or frames in the profiles take up some space, Riot had to renew the appearance of certain parts of the client. From now on, after the game, everyone will see not only the results or progress in gaining mastery but also the missions completed in the Challenges.

While the Challenges themselves were received rather well and many players have already boasted about their achievements, some of the community did not like the new look of the client after the match. Some say it’s hideous, others compare it to those from mobile games. Is it that bad?

Is the new interface in LoL a flop?

Many players commented on the new screen design. One of them concluded that the developers unnecessarily wanted to fix something that wasn’t broken at all:

New post-match UI is awful. Does anyone else find the new post-match UI absolutely terrible? Everything is cluttered, there is no room for the chat. It doesn’t look like it actually offers anything new, other than just mixing it up for the sake of mixing it up. If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Another player wrote:

Yeah it looks awful. It looks so cluttered despite not actually conveying any more relevant information than the old lobby did. I’m also not a fan of the skin portraits used for the champions instead of their default portraits/icons. Champions are quickly and easily identifiable by the default icons (the ones you see on the mini map)

Many comments show that the new look is similar to those from mobile games or titles in which the client’s design is not particularly well thought out.

Of course, there are also players who think the changes have turned out for good. At the moment it is too early to coldly judge whether the graphic modifications are actually a good step. League of Legends fans have to get used to the news, and as you know, it is sometimes difficult to accept changes to something that has been seen every day for a long time.
