On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Arcane series, the creators answered many fan questions about the new season.
Arcane is an animated series about the fate of League of Legends characters. Although it is hard to believe, a few days ago it celebrated its first anniversary. More than a year ago, players learned the fate of sisters Vi and Jinx and the story of many other characters they know from Summoner’s Rift and beyond.
The series turned out to be a huge hit and was talked about all over the Internet for months. The title topped the charts in more than a dozen countries, so it’s no surprise that fans very quickly started asking the creators about the next season.
It was officially announced that this one will indeed be made, but we will have to wait a little longer. Due to the fact that the anniversary of the release is quite an event, Rioters decided to reveal something about Arcane 2. What can be learned from the answers that fans received?
Questions and answers related to Arcane 2
Although it’s been more than a year since the series’ release, many people are heavily involved in developing a fan community for the title. New fanart and cosplays are being created all the time, and there is a lot of discussion on the Internet about what themes might be addressed in the second season.
Riot wanted Arcane fans to ask various questions on Reddit. Many of them were about what will be developed next season, who the creators will focus on, and the like. Of course, not too much of the plot was revealed so as not to spoil the fun of watching, but some of the answers are worth a look, as they are very interesting.
Riot Praeco was asked by a member of the public to choose one word that he thought would best describe what will happen in the second season of Arcane. Rioter’s answer was as follows:
War.
Another fan asked whether in the second season the creators have developed more the theme of Jinx and Ekko’s relationship, which was outlined in season one. This, too, was answered rather briefly, but unequivocally:
Oh, yeah.
It was also asked whether the next season will conclude the plot of the city of Piltover and its suburban district of Zaun. Here, unfortunately, nothing concrete was said, as Riot Praeco stated:
I don’t think answering this question would actually benefit you, so I’m not gonna do it.
Under yet another question, Rioter admitted that the new episodes will touch on Viktor’s storyline, so his fans will be happy. In addition, he also mentioned something about Caitlyn and Vi. He wrote:
As for Vi and Caitlyn, I wish I could say more at this point, but many of the answers I would give would spoil the viewing experience. We’re confident in the direction we’re heading, and I’d love to hear your impressions as soon as season 2 is released.
It is also interesting to know what inspired the creators in the creation of the first season. One fan asked what productions were the inspiration for writing the storyline or creating the animation. Riot Praeco answered:
Alex and I were talking a lot about Peaky Blinders while we were working on Season 1.
For animation, there really isn’t taht much I would reference to be frank. When we started Arcane, there wasn’t really anything out there that had the look and style we had in mind.
