Riot has decided to introduce a small, but for many, significant change to the LoL chat.
As is well known, League of Legends is known for the fact that the game community is not the nicest. You could even say that it is one of the most toxic of communities.
Riot tries to combat the misbehavior of its players from time to time. Over the years, the reporting system has been refined, honor level awards have been introduced, and the deletion of general chat, which, according to the developers, was mainly used for verbal scuffles between teams, has been considered.
Often, players advise each other that it is a good idea to mute everyone at the start of the match so that their comments in the chat do not distract or upset. However, toxic behavior does not always occur only during the game itself, but also after the game – in chat in the lobby.
Riot decided to fix this problem and made a change to the aforementioned chat. This is another step that seems to be slowly limiting chat participation in LoL.
Post-game chat changes
Patch 12.11 will bring a lot of news to the game. In addition to the changes to the balance of heroes and items, the game will feature new skins – Ocean Song, the newest character – Bel’Veth will be added, various bug fixes will be introduced, and a minor post-game chat change will take effect.
In the paragraph labeled “behavioral systems” it can be read that:
End of Game chat is now opt-in! You’ll only see messages from other players in the post-game lobby if you click on the chat icon or enter a chat message. Clicking on the chat icon will turn on/off player messages.

As you can see, the change is small, but there will probably be people who will appreciate it. Some players do not like browsing the chat after the game, because this is where many people comment on the result of the match and make fun of those who did not do well. Now you will be able to decide whether you want to see those messages. If not, you will see nothing but the results.
