Riot about Yuumi’s remake in LoL. What will the creators focus on? Will the heroine be less annoying?

Yuumi will get a bigger makeover. Rioters reveal what will change soon.
Yuumi is a really special heroine. Her gameplay stands out from other champions. What follows – many players hate her style of play, as they find her simply annoying and even toxic.
Riot has repeatedly balanced the character to meet the expectations of the community in both the low divisions and the professional scene. Unfortunately, balancing this is an incredibly difficult challenge. However, the developers hope that the upcoming rework will do its job.
What exactly is expected to change? What aspects will Rioters focus on the most?
Rework of Yuumi from League of Legends
In the description of the latest update from LoL – 12.23 – we can read about the fact that the developers plan to remake the magical cat, who is currently regarded as an incredibly annoying character.
From the description of Rioters, it seems that the announced changes are not the end of modifications. The developers have many more plans, which you can read about below.
We’ve started work on a larger scale Yuumi rework to help this cat land in a much healthier spot. We want to highlight what Yuumi as an attached, untargetable enchanter can provide to her team. As an early goal, we want to limit her aggressive CC outputs/damage, emphasize more defensive/enchanter outputs, reduce her scaling, and make her more dependent on her own lane’s success to win games. We’ll have some more news to share on this in the future, but for now we appreciate your patience as we work on Yuumi.
One of the Rioters – Matt Leung-Harrison – spoke more extensively about the redesign of Yuumi. He explained what the developers are focusing on and how the strength of Yuumi differs due to the level of players – counting from new and beginners to professionals.
Yuumi changes for 12.23 are aimed at reducing her Pro Play power (lane vulnerability & CC). We want to balance Yuumi around regular play and not Pro.
These changes aren’t intended to reduce Yuumi’s frustration, though we think it’s a problem and work has already started there.
We’ll share more on our direction in a QGT coming out next week; frustration based changes are challenging and take more time to land.
Her untargetable state is key for new players, but Pros hyper-optimize going in and out to reduce counterplay for opponents, while regular players can’t. As a result, we don’t think having Yuumi spending more time unattached (or kicked off) is going to give the desired outcome.
Instead, we’re looking at ways to increase counterplay while attached, have her power tied more to her own personal success, more incentives to not abandon her lane partner and look at her scaling profile.
