LoL players have outsmarted Riot. The developers have blocked these items from buying, but not in that order

League of Legends

Riot tried to get rid of one of the tricks in the most basic way in Update 12.8, but it failed. So this won’t be fixed until patch 12.9.

There are many tricks in LoL. For example, for several months now you can use something that is commonly referred to as “Double Zhonya’s”. It’s all about buying items that together allow you to become immortal for a good few seconds.

It’s a fairly strong tactic that, in specific cases, works better than you might think. Riot knew this very well, and seeing that it was gaining more and more popularity, decided to remove it. The problem is that it was done in a very simple way, and players managed to go around several minutes after the patch was released.

Something went wrong

Riot stated that in patch 12.8 it will block the possibility of buying the Guardian Angel or Zhonya at the moment a player upgrades Stopwatch. The problem is that you can still have these items in the same game. Just buy everything in the right order and don’t upgrade your Stopwatch until you buy the rest.

It’s obvious that people quickly figured it out, and Riot’s patch didn’t do much. Developers are aware of this and have already announced further changes to the topic.

As we read on Reddit, this was not an oversight. Riot reportedly did not have enough time to investigate the topic in depth, so it was concluded that the complete removal of it will be postponed to patch 12.9.

So you can slowly say goodbye to this trick. It is not yet known how Riot will solve this, but you can guess that simply the ability to mix these items will be removed. Unless the developers come up with something more creative.
