It’s the end of the world’s most popular LoL site. A very controversial farewell to its creator

Probably every LoL player has been to this site at least once. The most popular one was a few years ago, when everyone kept up to date with League of Legends news.

There are plenty of popular LoL-related sites on the web. One of them was Surrenderat20.

Surrenderat20 was a source of information for many people, the site functioned for many years and did best in the market. And it was the case despite the fact that its operation was not some incredibly complicated one, the people in charge of the site are fed up.

End of Surrenderat20

The site remains inactive at this time. The last news is displayed, after the publication of which two explanations appeared. One from the founder:

The second from his partner, although it’s hard to say what their relationship is like now. Here it is much more controversial. The woman writes that she took care of the site out of compulsion, because that’s how they paid their bills. LoL itself is supposed to be dumb, and so is the game community.

Unless the founder wants to return to it, the site will remain in its current state, probably until the servers expire. Creators are unlikely to pay for something that no longer makes them money.

It’s also quite a lesson for anyone who sees such sites as huge businesses. The author of Surrenderat20 has repeatedly written that he doesn’t make as much money from the site as he would like and is generally struggling financially.
