Additional “friend reroll” on ARAM in LoL? An idea that was very warmly received

League of Legends

One of the fans of the Howling Abyss mode has suggested an add-on that he thinks would improve the enjoyment of playing ARAMs.

ARAM is a well-known and well-liked game mode in League of Legends. Fans appreciate Howling Abyss gameplay because is considered to be much looser and more enjoyable. ARAMs are also a great option when you want to play a quick match with friends or get crates on various characters that might not be played on Summoner’s Rift.

Probably everyone knows that the main feature of Howling Abyss games is that the heroes are selected randomly. Sometimes it happens that the champion chosen for a specific player did not suit him. This is where rerolls come in handy, i.e. the option to change characters to another, also random one.

Unfortunately, it happens that after a change, the next hero is also not satisfactory. However, this does not mean that you have to leave the lobby right away. You can still trade with your allies or choose one of the available characters from the pool displayed at the top of the screen. One of the players felt that one more option should be added to this, which could be described as “reroll for a friend”. What is it all about?

Extra reroll on ARAM

A user with the nickname DARKHAWX suggested that Riot could introduce the option of one more reroll. It wouldn’t be a regular draw, but an addition that could help a friend in the lobby.

Sometimes it happens that an ally can no longer reroll heroes, and he or she does not like everyone in the pool or does not know how to play them. In that case, an additional draw for that person could save her situation.

Sometimes I have a free re-roll, but I want to stick with my current champion. To help those less fortunate than me I want to re-roll to give them options, but don’t want my champion to be stolen from me.

I propose a new button be added that adds a champion to the pool, but allows me to keep my current champion.

The post quickly became popular with nearly 8,000 positive reactions. Several hundred people commented on the idea.

As you might expect, opinions were divided. Some commenters said that this is a very good option because it doesn’t really hurt anyone, and it can help an ally and prevent them from having to play a hero they don’t know/don’t like (which can also reduce the chance of feeding).

Others believed that adding more ways to change characters would make ARAMs no longer as random as they should be. According to these people, even today it is often irritating to see a limited pool of characters on Howling Abyss because players, instead of playing with what they get, constantly draw and choose only those champions who are simply very strong.
