Twitch is undoubtedly a leader when it comes to the streaming industry. The platform is number one and there is no indication that this will change any time soon. One of the two biggest competitors is closing its mobile app.
This is not some incredibly groundbreaking information, because virtually no one used it. Only today most will find out that such a thing existed.
Facebook is giving up?
Facebook Gaming is closing its dedicated mobile application for watching streams. This is the same for iOS and Android devices. Is this a breakthrough? No, but it shows that Facebook is slowly starting to give up.
Anyway – why be surprised? Facebook did not develop streaming functions, it stayed behind for a few years not even behind Twitch, but also behind YouTube. From time to time, Google’s platform introduces new elements, mechanics, and possibilities. Nothing new has appeared on Facebook for years.
