Twitch and Discord answer about the Buffalo shooting. The teenager was streaming everything

Twitch

Everyone knows for sure about the Buffalo shooting. Twitch, but also Discord, have already responded to it.

On Saturday, a tragic event occurred, a shooting in Buffalo was streamed on Twitch. An 18-year-old shot 10 people. It didn’t take too long, as the entire stream was around 6-7 minutes, but it was enough to get people to see the nightmare scenes.

There is an excerpt about Twitch in the shooter’s manifesto where words are said about another shootout that was streamed over 30 minutes before the total ban. Here, moderation did it much faster.

Twitch and Discord about these tragic events

The stream was probably also on Discord, although there is no evidence of it, it was certainly through this platform that the details were established. Therefore, Discord expressed condolences on this matter.

“We express our deepest sympathy to the victims and their families and will do whatever we can to assist law enforcement in the investigation.”

Twitch, on the other hand:

“Twitch has a zero-tolerance policy against all kinds of violence and works quickly to respond to all incidents. The user has been permanently banned from our service, and we will continue to actively take action against re-broadcasting their footage.”

So everyone who tries to broadcast the recording will be banned. At this point, there is information about the ban next to the name of the user who streamed the shooting. It has been removed from all tracking pages.
